How to make the most out of therapy/CBT?

I did a short course of CBT a few years ago but didn't make the most out of it (missed sessions, wasn't honest, didn't take therapists' advice.) I am currently on a waiting list for therapy with my uni wellbeing team & NHS CBT course. They are both being done remotely. I want to make the most out of them and truly get better.
I think you kind of answered your own question - be open and honest with your therapist, do all the sessions, try out what they advise!

I know it’s easier said than done, especially if you don’t click with your therapist. I also did some CBT years ago and wasn’t mentally ready to move on/deal with stuff so I understand. It sounds like you are ready/prepared for it though so I’d try and hold onto that feeling. Good luck!
