If my memory serves me correct, Mexico City has a higher homicide rate then Kabul (the capital of Afghanistan.)

As a whole, no.
It depends heavily on where exactly you would live though, so it's not a great question.

It all depends on location.

Some parts of London are dangerous whereas some are really safe.

A beach resort called Zihuatanejo is the safest place to hide if you have just escaped prison after laundering money for the corrupt warden and having been framed for murder. The Mexicans say that the Pacific Ocean has no memory.

I would say no, whilst it may have beautiful parts to visit Mexico is rife with cartel gangs. And those ****ers have little mercy on anyone, many tourists have been killed over there. And theres not much the police can do about it.

i know someone who travelled to Mexico and was mugged, dragged to the desert to die but survived from drinking droplets of rain water till the police found them who then called the Canadian Consulate to fly them back home. i know you don't believe me but tru story
