u most certainly should. Theres no guarantee they'll send u a form cos i think only a sample get sent the form. secondly, u mention work experience so u can explain what u gained out of it, which is extremely importnat for a med ps
Yeah but the thing is I have no work experience or volunteer work so I’m trying to avoid putting it on my ps if I can. I’ll have gotten it before interview (if I’m invited) but I really hope I don’t get sent that form

Then it may be a bit risky to apply to UCL as they are one of the few places that looks heavily at the ps.

If you have work experience lined up, you could still mention it in you ps but say that you will be doing it

Anyone know what BMAT scores are needed at UCL? I found this FOI:

Our Response

Average BMAT Scores

2018 Section 1 Section 2
Applied 4.5 4.6
Invited 5.1 5.3

Applied 4.3 4.6
Invited 4.9 5.2

2020 Section 1 Section 2

Wondering if anyone knows about 2021 entry? did it rise a lot? any information or just general consensus about what bmat score would be good would very appreciated

Seems like you need to do very well in BMAT for the interview - especially because more people are applying this year

My personal statement talks quite a bit about my work experience but how much is too much? Also is it worth dedicating a second paragraph to my extra research and attended lectures instead of really expanding and developing my work experience ?

These are averages not a cut off so a large proportion of people with offers will have gotten below these scores.

does UCL use GCSE's as one of their many ways to choose interview applicants?
Do they also favour students with a modern foreign language?

Hi, I was wondering if my profile (minus the bmat ofc) would be strong
GCSE's 8888777777
Predicted grades A*A*A* Bio Chem Maths

Work experience
Interviewed numerous amounts of Doctors(which I set up) and inquired about a lot of different information
Online work experience at springpod BSMS and observe GP
Online work experience with an ophthalmologist and radiologist
In person work experience at an imperial college research facility
In person work experience at an alternative medicine clinic (acupuncture and Chinese medicine)
School mentor (tutoring and non academic help eg mental health)
Vice house captain and leader of KS4
charity mission trip to Athens helping out refugees
a lot of charity work which was carried out through my church
member of school 1st XV rugby team
Former surrey chess champion
presented a research project about euthanasia in school medical society
read a lot books medicine related
not very impressive but grade 5 on trumpet and performed in orchestras a lot
6 years of hapkido (Korean martial arts) and got black belt and taught classes
Full marks on the UK Senior maths challenge best in school and sat the British maths olympiad

I can't evaluate it myself but quite a strong personal statement. I got a ST4 ophthalmologist who graduated from Oxford to review it and said it was excellent but then again who knows, everyone has their own opinion
I got shown my reference from school ( idk if that's acc allowed) but it was quite good

I was wondering if it would be a lot smarter applying here rather than imperial that has just a straight bmat cut off
In other words would this profile be very good, good, average or bad and what bmat score should I be aiming to receive to be a "good" applicant?

So sorry to be a nuisance and write another post, but I was wondering if anyone could answer my questions from yesterday as the deadline is on Friday!! Especially about the GCSE's as those would most probably be my downfall if i were to apply to ucl and they regard them highly

My twin brother received an email of his application being received from both UCL and BSMS. I haven’t gotten anything from those 2 unis. What should I do?

I have not received an email either. I think they may just send it at different times. Was your brother's application submitted earlier than yours?

i've received confirmation from UCL and Imperial but not others, while some have received confirmation from my other 2 unis and not the ones i have.. i think they just send them out randomly in batches. i don't think there's much to worry about as it's on UCAS to get your application to the uni, not you :P
