Discrete Random Variables Question

I'm having trouble understanding what to do with the attached question (#4i)?

Looked up what the 'absolute difference' means, but can't work out what they're asking for the difference of?

If it's the r.v. x from the first spin, subtract the r.v. x from the second spin, there are multiple possibilities for the second spin? So really unsure what to do. Had a look at the answer and the possible r.v's for Y are just the r.v's for X, minus one.

Is anyone able to help? :s-smilie:

It means the modulus of one spin result minus the other.
