Hi, please can someone help me with the structure of a primary source commentary? My lecturer said that I need to include an argument in my essay, but I don't know what to say. Also, it is only 500 words, so I have to be succinct, and they haven't elaborated on if we need to consult secondary sources for background information. Please, any help is necessary!!!!

Hi, thank you for your reply; I’ll be sure to use it! Do you know how you get to an argument during these commentaries? Is it just by explaining the source’s limitations and then commenting on how it's still useful to historians? Thanks
