Hi There peeps.

I'm PS help, a Schwarzedeutscher wanting to get into the field of accounting in the UK. I do have a desire to continue studying for this probably why I signed up fo an accounting course. I just wanted to know what is the career progression for someone whose only completed a Level 2 in AAT. Could I immediately go on to do a Cima with A-levels?

Thanks!

There are several accounting bodies you can sign up with in the UK. ACA, CIMA, and ACCA being the most popular ones.

If you decide to go with ACA, you can do things via fast track: https://careers.icaew.com/find-your-...aca-fast-track. I personally recommend the ACA if you intend to go into accounting in the UK.

For ACCA and CIMA, you would need to have a Level 4 in AAT before you can get any exemptions for their professional level qualifications. Otherwise, you will need to study their foundation qualifications before you can move onto the professional level ones.

For ACCA, this is the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) (or the Foundation Diploma if you are based in Bangladesh or Pakistan) (see: https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/qua...-it-works.html). With a Level 2 in AAT, you get 2 exemptions on 2 modules for the diploma. At Level 3 AAT, you get 4.exemptions. See the following: https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/hel...alculator.html

For CIMA, thia ia the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA) (see: https://myfuture.cimaglobal.com/the-...ss-accounting/). You need the Level 4 in order to skip the BA and go straight into the 10 remaining papers. If you do the BA, you won't have any entry requirements. See the following for exemptions: https://www.cimaglobal.com/Starting-...mption-Search/

I am not sure about the ICAS, CIPFA, and ICAI though,
