Should I do extra work for GCSE teacher assessed grades?

I am really panicking about this year's grading and have trust issues with my teacher. I have been told to only do the work in class but I do not believe this is sufficient to get me where I want to be. For example, I am one of only three candidates who are taking higher maths and science. Should I be doing extra work and past papers to help get my desired grade.
that probably wouldn't help you unless you're doing the extra work as part of revision for class assessments seeing as your teacher won't actually be able to mark the extra work you're doing at home and it won't count for anything

Thank you for your response. My teachers have said that all work counts including any homework we have done.
