Anyone done this?
https://8values.github.io/

It's fun and a lot more accurate / informative than the original political compass.

I have George Bush and Tony Blair wallpapered all over my room, doncha know!

I was a bit perplexed at that one. I'd describe myself as a paleoconservative/-libertarian, so I find the test's use of that label odd.

I think they've conflated old school empire building/ assertive real politik with liberal interventionism (going to Afghanistan to teach people feminism)

Got the following:

86.5% Equality - 13.5% Markets
30.6% Nation - 69.4% World
66.8% Liberty - 33.2% Authority
12.6% Tradition - 87.4% Progress

Classifed me as a "Libertarian Socialist". I consider myself more of a social democratic, but fairs.

64.7% Equality - 35.3% Markets
23.3% Nation - 76.7% World
76.2% Liberty - 23.8% Authority
17.1% Tradition - 82.9% Progress

Social libertarianism

I tend to be more free market than those results would imply.

I'd never use the word libertarian to describe myself, it makes me feel dirty.

Classical liberal/ neoliberal?

What are your thoughts on Ayn Rand?

Agree RE feeling dirty about being called libertarian despite being partially aligned with them in some things but I'm much more right wing than you.

Edit: read your score wrong I thought you were 64% in favour of the market. Youre just a normal liberal bro

If anyone is interested the score breakdown is here (don't necessarily agree with all of the descriptions but they do make sense )

Classic liberal with left wing sympathies would be fairly accurate.

What are your thoughts on Ayn Rand?
Couldn't right for ****. Superficial and dogmatic.

Her only worthy legacy was the influence she had on Bioshock.

liberalism

i'd give you the percentages but i accidentally hit the 'back' button and now can't see them basically tho they were all around centre.

fun quiz but tbh most of the questions are widely open to interpretation; for instance 'family values are important to me' (or whatever the question was), like how are we interpreting 'family values' here? who would say no to that, but my family values may be different to yours :dontknow:

I got Social Liberalism, which is pretty much how I'd describe my views. I'd say this one's more accurate than the Political Compass. I've tried that a few times before & it always has me right down in the bottom left hand corner, even though I see myself as fairly centrist on a lot of issues.
