Ia higher maths a useful higher that universities look for for applicants e.g. would u be more likely to get in with higher maths instead of ( for example, business RMPS, history)

It depends entirely on what you want to study. If you're looking at any kind of science then Maths is almost definitely a requirement for the course but social science generally doesn't care. The best thing to do is look at courses you like the sound of and see what they require. I did this to ensure that not taking higher English wouldn't affect my application and it was a massive relief to get to leave that behind.
