I was originally going to go with Santander (mainly for the railcard) but read you pay in £500 per term and have gone off this bank, any other recommendations??? Next choice is HSBC is this a good bank?

i mean as a student bank account you'll most likely be getting your student loan put into it termly so I don't think the £500 should be a problem? i think its also a condition for a lot of other student bank accounts (ik nationwide needs £500 too) but I think those two are the best in terms of what they offer (freebies and overdraft limit). I'm not sure about HSBC

By that they're referring to your student finance payment. They don't mean you personally, they mean they want at least £500 to enter the account each term which would come from SF
