I need help for which uni to firm.
It’s between university of Birmingham and Aston
I would love to go UOB however there is no placement year whereas for Aston there is.
What would be the better option employment wise?

Career wise, I’d like to become something along the lines of a financial analyst

Hello,

When deciding on the university to apply to a lot of factors should be considered and put in order of personal preference and priority. Some of such factors include (but are not limited to): cost of living, campus-style, distance from a city, surrounding area, diversity, Job prospects, networking opportunities, course module, student-staff ratio, etc.

The Accounting and Finance degree at Aston University was ranked top 30 in the UK (Guardian University Guide, 2020) and top 20 for teaching quality and experience ( The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2020).

As part of the BSc Accounting and Finance degree, you will gain invaluable work experience to help your CV stand out to future employers. This degree thinks beyond the numbers and makes sure your learning is applicable to real-life situations by giving you both theoretical and practical skills and knowledge. This theoretical understanding will be applied to real-life situations during your integrated placement year before you tailor your final year to the areas in which you want to specialise. A placement year is not just important for making useful professional connections but for also gaining experience that will boost your CV and give you an insight into your future career. Many students are also offered graduate jobs with their placement organisation. The Careers and Placements team at Aston University were recognised as the 'Best University Careers/Employability Service' by the National Undergraduate Employability (NUE) Awards 2020 and they will be on hand to help you secure both placement and graduate jobs.

Accreditation is a stamp of quality and prestige for a business school and its programmes. Aston is part of an elite group of business schools thanks to our triple accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.
This programme may also lead to accreditation or exemptions from the following professional bodies:

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

This course also offers an Exchange Partnership Second Degree Pathway, meaning you could study overseas at one of our partner institutions during your placement year and graduate with two undergraduate degrees for the price of one.

Hope this has helped.
