Loosing wieght

I've recently turned 18 and it has just dawned on me that i'm not getting any taller (or any prettier for that matter). I come from a family of stunning siblings, and im sick of being the ugly duckling in the family. So i've decided that the only thing to do is loose wieght. I'm about 5ft7 and weigh about 11 stone (although i dont look like i do).

Has n e 1 got ne ideas on how to loose wieght?? I will admit that i'm a bit of a glutton and i thoroughly enjoy my food, so ideas on how to prevent over eating and gorging would be much appreciated!

It's simple; just eat less! Make sure you're not eating more than 2000 calories a day. In fact, as you want to lose weight rather than maintain it, I'd suggest eating fewer calories than that - around 1000-1500?

dont go with quick weight losing weight methodes,just eat health no chocolates not alot of fats,concentrate on vegtables dont eat one large meal at one row break meals so that you could eat when your hungry:biggrin:
and exercise ,drink alot of water.

Eat less. Excersice more. Drink more water.

Try to avoid eating regularly:
- fried foods, like fried chips (very high saturated fats)
- chocolate or sweets (high in sugars and therefore calories. a mars bar=a 20 minute jog!)
- bagels, pastries, yoghurts

Go for a 15 minute jog everyday.

Basically to lose weight you need to eat less calories than you use up. In a day a woman would probably use 2000 calories, so try to aim for 1500. However it's very hard to make fast progress when you're not doing exersice.

smaller more regular meals.

HIIT. High intensity interval training.

Climb stairs rather than taking the lift or escalator.

Walk don't bus, if you have to bus, get off the bus early.

Drink water.

Don't eat ****.

Without any equipment, jogging is the best, with this you can incorporate HIIT, you can even do it with stairs.. although it gets repetitive.

if your serious then use the cuppa soup diet....eat cuppa soup for morning break (you know at like 9, you cant face it first thing) and then again for lunch, eat a balanced tea, and drink plenty of water!


although this probably isnt the healthiest of options. :hmpf:

its not blah blah blah its reasonable, but still it feels good to know that you look good - doesnt it. if you feel you need to improve your knowlage of biology you revise so if you feel you need to look better you do what you can to improve (within reasons)

just try eating more sensibly as everyone else has said - although i'm going along on the slim fast diet for moral support of my friend - just had my first shake *barf*

I'm sure you don't need to lose weight but good luck if you want to try.
i had to loose weight to join the navy and i ahd to do it quickly, it wasnt dangerous, they gave me special guidelines that help you loose weight effectively, all you do is cut out sugar, use sweetener instead, cut out all the crap - chocolate, crisps, cheese and then just eat helthily through the day, fruit is good but not apples, have the same amount of calories as a chocolate bar!!! it takes a lot of will, but because of what they told me i lost a stone and a half in five weeks, and i didnt excercise it was ourely just through cutting out all the crap thats just snack food!!!

check that site out. Read about weight loss etc It's an excellent site and the person who runs it is really kind :smile:

1) Find calories needs (from the site given)
2) Have a plan + motivation
3) Follow it...Don't kill yourself. A little is better than nothing. And don't EVER rush weight loss. If you want to do is right, it has to be slow.

Just an example, dont take it to heart people: I fully agree with this, hence why contacts and laser eye surgery, as not many people want to have glasses etc, even though some people might find attractive.

Weight Watchers is good, you don't have to cut out any food groups. Your intake is regulated of each food. I've been on it for a while and I lost a stone and 4 pounds (but put quite alot back on over Christmas :redface: ). I know how you feel, my sister is stick thin and can eat what she likes, while I have to resist temptation and diet, and still never look as polished and 'put together' as she does. It sucks!

Drink like loadz of water before you eat as this fills the tummy!
also eat your dinner before 5 asthis helps with the digestion and stuff!!!

Why do people always associate being fat with ugliness? If you want to lose weight with the sole purpose of shaking a couple of pounds off, go ahead. But if you're doing to be prettier, then you may have some issues with insecurity, which could also contribute to your binge eating. The best advice I could give you is to stay away from diets, the do not work. Get plenty of excercise and at the same time, accept that you do not have to be thinner to be better looking.
