I suppose the answer is yes regardless. In terms of England, Scotland, Wales or NI, each will teach their PGCE to their specific teaching standards as education is a devolved issues.
In regards to the quality of University, If you go for a well-respected university with a good course you will likely find it easier to get a job, have better experiences and a fuller education in comparison to less good courses. It is better to base this off what the course offers and anecdotes from people who have attended that university than uni rankings however.
