Hey guys! I am an international non-EU applicant. Have been offered admission to the Master's programs in Computing (AI+ML) at Imperial and Computer Science at ETH Zurich. Having a hard time deciding which one to choose.

Here are some of the pros and cons according to me-

Imperial-
+ Shorter program (1 yr)
+ One of the best CS departments in the UK
+ Plenty of job opportunities (It's London after all)
+ Good location
+ More selective program
- Very expensive (would need a solid loan)

ETH-
+ Cheap (will save nearly half the money compared to Imperial)
+ Best CS department in continental Europe
+ High quality of life and quite scenic tbh
+ Will get time to do research (leaving options for a PhD)
- Unsure of job opportunities later
- Not very selective (lots of students)

What are some of your thoughts?

Hi, I also applied for MSc Computing (AI ML) at Imperial, haven't heard back yet. When did you apply?

Thanks for your reply! I would recommend Imperial as I think the future job opportunities would definitely outweigh the expenses in the long run. Plus, Switzerland is quite expensive to live in, and thus, ETH would also be an expensive option. Plus, Imperial's 1yr master means you get into either PhD or the workforce much faster to cover up the tuition costs (and also pay 1yr of tuition fees). Nonetheless, both are good universities and would for sure lead to a very promising career
