What would you say liberalism has to offer when concerning peace? How would it achieve such?
And likewise for realism.

Liberalism believes that if every state becomes a liberal democracy then no one will choose to go to war with each other. And as far as I'm aware this has yet to happen. Previous claims regarding the free market and democracy have been shown not to happen.

Realism believes that to some extent war is inevitable but that the best deterrant against war is having a big stick either a powerful army or/ and ideally Nukes. Also it is actually less aggressive than Liberal states as only acts for its own interest not ideological purposes such as spreading Democracy ect.

You can compare and contrast the liberal foreign policy of the US (Bush and Obama,) Vs that of the foreign policy of Putin's Russia or China
