Troll threads get closed because it encourages trolling to leave them open which in turns wastes mod time that could be better used elsewhere.

Some aren't troll threads though. Some are genuinely good discussions.

It's normal enough for VTs and TSR staff to close threads temporarily to get rid of obvious trolling/deliberately inflammatory posts. If this has to be done over and over, that's when the thread gets permanently closed.

it won't get shut down if it's a genuine and general discussion afaik so do not fret :nah:

it's different if you were asking about specific mod decisions, which can only be addressed in AtCS.

for the record threads don't automatically get shut down if someone reports them. for example i asked this thread to be moved to the right forum, and then it did and it's still open :yep:
