Car tax not working

Hi I bought my first car yesterday (A 1994 Volkswagen Polo Coupe) and I tried taxing it today so I can drive it around with my dad

It comes up with this notice, and then instructs me to tax online again.
I never get round to the paying stage, I just enter in my car registration and the number on the greenslip V5C/2 paper (As i do not have full V5c - only bought the car yesterday)
Any help would be appreciated,
I assume I would just need to go to the Post Office tomorrow and do it in person?

try doing it online and see what it says on gov.uk . and you can always phone up dvla tmwr mrning

I'd go to the post office as soon as. I had a few issues with taxing my car just after getting it and they went ahead and taxed it in about 5 minutes for me.
