Also. is it true Russell group universities don’t offer any spaces through clearing? I am looking to apply for accounting and finance through clearing this year (2021). Is it likely it will be available?

RG unis definitely do offer places through clearing. ACCYFIN is generally popular so will be very case by case, but yes there’s certainly a chance it will be available somewhere.

This is a strange year. Unis promised seats to some students last year who initially were told they did not have the grades and then had their school assessed grades accepted. This year we are expecting a bumper year of A levels so I doubt many of the RG unis will be going into clearing this year.

The only universities I know of that don't appear in clearing are Oxford, Cambridge, UCL LSE, Durham, and St Andrews. I think I've seen just about every other uni, including "notable" ones, appearing in clearing for some course or another (although sometimes there are very few courses in clearing from a particular uni).
The only courses I can't say I've ever seen in clearing are vet med and dentistry, although there are probably others I've not particularly noticed being absent (I expect some allied health professions courses might be less likely to be in clearing). Accounting and finance definitely may appear in clearing, and courses from RG unis other than those indicated above definitely appear in clearing. Whether an A&F course that is offered by one of those other RG unis will be in clearing, I can't say.
Be aware that a course at a particular uni having been in clearing previously doesn't indicate that it will necessarily be in clearing again.
