Can i steam my face then use a facial scrub and afterwards use a homemade face mask or is it best to use face scrub and face mask before steaming. Also should i use a gentle cleanser before applying face masks or can i apply straight on?

Steam face->scrub face->use ur face mask
Best to do it all before bed. And yes, its okay to gently cleanse before exfoliating esp if you wear makeup.

Cleanser first (unclogs pores and allows you to start with a clean face)
Facial scrub
Wash face
Steam
Facemask
Wash off facemask and use moisturizer
At least thats what my dermatologist told me

The idea behind the steaming is that it kinda loosens the dirt and grime on your face and 'opens' your pores (pores don't actually open and close but can get tighter and looser) so your products can penetrate your skin well.
Also with blackheads, ive heard that chemical exfolation combined with claymasks is better for your skin than manual extraction bc manual extraction can damage or bruise the skin and leaves a temporary hole where dirt can get in. I think the 'proper' way (not a dermatologist here) is to use salicylic acid on the blackhead (you can get BHA serums), leave for a while, then apply a clay mask. I don't think the results are as dramatic and satisfying as squeezing or vacuuming blackheads but it's supposedly healthier
