I drove my partner and her parents to a Rolling Stones gig in Cardiff. What was supposed to be an hour and a half drive took like four hours due to insane levels of traffic. And of course it was one of the hottest days of the year. And my clutch started to overheat so pulling away was resulting in really bad shuddering. In heavy traffic - so stopping and starting every 50 metres. And my back was just "lol no" so I was in agony by the time we reached Cardiff. Driving back afterwards was a walk in the park by comparison.
Definitely up there as one of my worst drives. Longest drive I did in a day was Swansea to Brighton and back again. Eight and a half hours and just shy of 500 miles all in.

As for being the driver, none! I passed during the pandemic so no "long" journeys have been made - though as a passenger its probably when we lost in the Play-off finals a few years ago, the 4 hour drive home from Wembley felt like 10 hours. Crap!

I thought football players always travelled with the team in a coach?

A drive that took 5 hours instead of the typical 2. It's motorway driving for the majority, but I came across 3 unrelated (sadly fatal) traffic collisions on a single stretch of it that resulted in 30-mile long tailbacks. This wasn't long after the 2011 M5 crash as well, which probably meant that everything was being double and triple checked for possible causes.
