PGCE every time. I have so much respect for TAs but they get paid a pittance for what they do. You can still be a TA if you have a PGCE.

Completely agree. PGCE everytime!
As a HLTA, you do the same amount of work as a Teacher and get less pay. If anything, a HLTA works harder as you are in lots of different classes and have to remember the different abilities, behaviours and challenges in each class. I take my hat off to them! They do an amazing job!
