There are some people diagnosed with BPD who are very critical of their diagnosis.

For example, they believe it isnt a 'real' condition but a label when the professionals dont know what they have or too lazy or under resourced to properly understand them.

For them it's a label given to punish them for seeming not to comply with professionals and resisting their wrongful advice and treatment.

Or a label applied when the medication and inappropriate treatment and distress with being ignored by professionals causes mood swings.

Its also seen as an excuse by professionals not to provide any treatment and support because its seen as untreatable.

Many with BPD intensely dislike their diagnosis. They get written off as attention seekers.
