i need help writing down an answer to the question "evaluate the use of brain scanning" using these points, im not really sure how to write it up
AO1
PET scans investigate brain activity when a human is
doing a task
PET involves injecting a radioactive tracer into the
participant
fMRI records brain activity and produces an anatomical
picture of the brain
CAT scans use multiple X-rays to produce a crosssectional image of brain regions
AO3
Brain scanning lacks ecological validity as it takes place
in an artificial setting
Frequent exposure to radiation could mean brain
scanning could be unethical
Raine et al. (1997) found differences in murderer brain
activity using PET scans showing their contribution
Brain scans can be repeated easily to test for reliability in
findings about human behaviour
Hi there,

Because it is an "evaluate" question, your predominant focus needs to be on evaluation notes more so than an explanation on what brain scanning, however, an initial sentence on use of brain scanning is a good start. With this question, you should focus on AO3 points more so than the others, but make sure to use other notes to explain the evaluation points noted. You may say "Brain scanning lacks ecological validity as it takes place in an artificial setting due to PET scans involving a radioactive tracer being injected into the participant" as an example.

Hope this helps!
