I was logged into my school account by accident whilst watching porn at home during school break. I’m going to be caught, and it’s worse because I’m a minor and I don’t think it’s legal. What excuse should I use? Please don’t tell me to be truthful.

Why not? Do you have any reasons why you think you should get away with it?

Say nothing and I doubt anyone will care.

Is there anything wrong with what I did? It’s normal, but obviously it’s embarrassing and I’ll get into trouble with my school and parents. Are you asking why I don’t want to be in trouble? I’m not addicted, it was a one time thing.

It'll only get worse if you give excuses. Just agree with whatever they say and take the L and move on because they can't do anything about it apart from maybe putting a parental lock, confisacating your device or something. tbh even if you got caught what is the school gonna do about it

The whole 'getting in trouble' bit should be telling you if there was anything wrong with it.

Yeah, it's illegal. That's what's wrong with you watching porn, on a surface level anyway.

I would just be honest if asked. Say it with a straight face and don't be immature.

Who does? You missed the point, why are you asking us if you've done something wrong if you already know you'll get in trouble for it?

Two main excuses, 1. It was a pop up and you didn't mean to click on it, 2. It was a dare between friends that we all agreed on

Wouldn't 2 mean they would have to expose their friends.

I would just accept you did something wrong and not give any excuses because you're in the wrong

For my second point they wouldn't have to name anyone just instead say that we just came up with the dare

Porn ads only appear in dodgy places, so if he got one he must have already been doing something dodgy on the device. The second one would not diminish the fact that he used school equipment to access pornography which is presumably in breach of the agreement he signed with the school before they gave him the device.

I mean like if they said "my friends" surely parents or teachers would roughly know who they're talking about

It’s my own phone. And I searched for it so I can’t say that it was a pop up.
