Would you consider a career in National Security?

What comes to mind when you think about having a career in National Security? International agents and spies, with their gadgets and martinis?

It’s all fun and games in the movies but but you don't have to be James Bond. In fact, there's a whole host of opportunities that make use of a wide array of skill sets - from project managers and digital communicators, to policy advisors and technical engineers. To protect everyone, we need everyone, and chances are, there's a job suited to you.

But, what is National Security? At its simplest, it's a central part of the Civil Service that seeks to protect the UK and its people. This means that National Security roles are spread across a wide range of government departments - so you could be working in the Cabinet Office, the Department for International Trade, or one of the Intelligence agencies.

Sound interesting? Our community is filled with people from an array of different backgrounds and levels of education, to ensure that we can fully represent the people we protect. Our day to day may look different, but everyone working in National Security shares a common set of goals: protecting our people, projecting our global influence, and promoting our prosperity.

You bring the potential, we'll bring the career. Find out more on the National Security website. And click through to some of our current schemes:

Hi are you able to tell me if a student gains an apprenticeship do you offer guidance on suggested accommodation & place students together or are they left to completely independently arrange this?? Specifically if they are 100’s of miles from home. Thanks

I believe there are, and that it is more lucrative to take those up alongside a role with your 'home' nation.
