Six21

What is this sixth form like? I´ve been offered a place but I was wondering how the actual atmosphere is like within the school- how has it helped you or what are some things I should expect from Six21?

Hey guys, year 12 student here! Although i don’t go six21, i can definitely tell you all these colleges and sixth forms give are false promises. I have heard from other students that the science department isn’t that great in six21 but never experienced the teaching myself. Just a word of advice is that take things into ur own hands during sixth form.. Yes the teachers and university access team is there to help and guide you but it is up to you at the end of the day. These colleges and sixth forms always seem to give false promises…

I now attend the sixth form and can confirm that some of the teachers in other departments are supposedly not great. However, in my subjects (history, politics and sociology) my teachers are brilliant and would definitely recommend this sixth form.

Do you know about psychology, maths, economics and chemistry?
Also, how is everything about the sixth form, the uniform? the people? teachers? rules?

I know that the maths department is pretty decent (I have heard no complaints about teachers), in economics there will be some

new teachers next year so I cannot predict how that will be, for psychology I have heard good things but cannot be certain and for chemistry again it is decent and there are no complaints about the teachers.

Uniform - there is not really a uniform for six formers and we just have to dress professionally (can just wear jumpers with a smart pair of trousers and shoes)

People - really depends on your year group but the people in my year are great. Also don’t be worried about students who came from their secondary school as they are great and in fact there are not many of them (there’s around 10 of them in my year)

teachers - I love all of my teachers. They are all well educated and very approachable but to be honest I haven’t heard the same about all of the teachers (All of them went to top university but all of them are certainly not approachable 😬)

rules - the sixth form has standard rules in terms of lateness and respect but there are honestly not that many consequences for example there is no detentions. However, I think this is largely due to their being no point as there are not that many rule breakers to begin with.

The chemistry department is great and they offer you as much support as you need . They actively engage with you and literally go over the basics from the very start. The teachers are really helpful tho. The Biology department has not been very stable with lots of teachers leaving and the quality of teaching is quite mid but like overall the biology department is not too bad if you get the good teachers. The science department is quite small as a whole with 2 chem teachers and 3 bio teachers currently but obviously its all subject

I have also received an offer and I cannot seem to find any reviews on the sixth form. I am unsure whether this sixth form is actually good. They seem to offer amazing projects that targets Russel group universities. However, I don’t know whether these things are just false promises. If you find out any information regarding this sixth form please inform me.
