I thought I’d put myself out there since this really helped me when I was looking into the course and accom, so a bit about myself: I am a current international student (from Sydney, Australia!) studying the ccw foundation and staying at Gardens House, feel free to ask me any questions relating to the course, the accomodation, the location, living in London, student life, safety etc. Reply here but I’ll probably reply faster on Instagram: _alex.wei_

I am currently doing the performance, theatre and screen design specialism in the design pathway, but I’ve started in the diagnostic mode. I’m going into CSM Performance Design and Practice in September.

Any questions regarding Portland House I can try my best to answer as I’ve visited a few times and have friends living there! If not I can always link you up to them the same goes for other accomodations, I can probably help you find people who live there too!

Hi there! Student life and social stuff is kinda impacted by COVID which is a bit annoying, at the beginning of our tenancy there were parties happening every night in the common room which wasn’t common for other accomodations from what I’ve heard, we would start in the common room then people would leave to go to other flats following the motive. This was a great way to meet people and make friends in the beginning, however as restrictions increased the security became more strict and they starting taking names at some really big flat parties and doing patrols of flats at night. Throughout the year we became more divided as friend groups were consolidated, so we had events with our specific groups instead but once in a while there might be a big flat party open to everyone which would generally be announced in the accomodation group chat. For a lot of these parties we did have to try and avoid security whenever we can so we don’t get caught, so there’s a lot of hide and seek lol, sometimes we’d also do parties with Portland house people depending if you knew anyone there. The rooms at gardens are generally true to the pictures shown on their website, it is fairly modern and looks super slick compared to a lot of the other ual accomodations as it is one of the newest accomodations (built like 2 years ago I think?). Let me know if you’ve got anymore questions

Hi!! was just wondering about the social life of Portland House, obviously covid would have impacted this but just wanted to ask how you/your friends generally feel about the area and life surrounding it. Thank you!!
