how am i supposed to vote by post?

i sent off an application for a postal vote weeks ago and the council haven't responded to it
meanwhile my ballot paper is already on the way to my old address due to a previous postal vote application i submitted. im looking at the previous application and it does clearly says only for one year, so it should've expired months ago but i remember when i applied the council misread my application. i did correct them, again im looking at that as well, but clearly they've still got it wrong
how am i meant to vote if i can't get heard and when i do, the council misreads my instructions? there's only a week or two left before it'll be too late to vote by post

Call them and say that they’ve sent it to your previous address and ask for a new ballot paper
You could also ask about in person voting. Idk how that works if you’re already registered for postal tho
