Physics Exam Question A Level

Hi, struggling physics student here. Please could someone explain what the mark scheme means by "pulses".

Hi, this attachment should help. I think by pulses, they are talking about the two rectangular shapes. There is an induced emf (the pulse) from 3-5 because the flux is changing we know that there is an emf induced when there is a change in flux - electromagnetic induction. Hope this answers your question!
