Bristol Classics (BA) vs Classical studies (BA)

I've read over both courses but I'm still confused about the difference between them both. Can anyone explain?

Thing is, I originally applied for the English (BA) course at Bristol and I received a contextual offer - I've firmed this offer. But now I'm having second thoughts about English so I've requested to change over to Classics. My personal statement even mentioned some features of Classics like various Greek literature I've enjoyed, etc. The only problem with this is that I'm not even sure I'll get a place with Classics because it requires a 6 in a modern foreign language and I previously got a 4 in French. I really hated French though tbf and I wish I had worked harder at it. Is there any way I can still get a place? My chances are looking slim right now.

Okay, so I only know from my friends' experiences, and we were at Liverpool, but essentially, Classics has more of a language focus than Classical Studies, which is more about the history and also texts in translation a lot of the time. You can still do Latin and/or Greek in Classical Studies, but there's less of a focus on it than Classics, which is a much more language orientated course.

I'd recommend having a look at the module list for both, and that should help clear up the differences for you.
