Maybe because I haven't had anything to rant about?
I was in the wiki area and saw it, I thought it was something recent so I clicked and it was you having a rant about Freshers week, lol.

:eyeball:

It's standard icebreaker material, mate.

"So, what do you hate about LSE?"

I hope it's not that bad. I've only heard good things from one person, and bad things from about 20...

Nah DW, we're just far to opinionated and easily annoyed for our good. 95% of the LSE is fine.

Naah he was probably about right there with 1 happy LSE student for every 20 unhappy ones. Now I'd just like to add, I'm unhappy with LSE but I still love it!
Reply 205
Meh, I'm sure I'll have a good time. Anyways, LSE is LSE!!!

You will...join the hockey team and I will make sure of it (social sec. for next year!).

Last time I played hockey I ran into a cone and cut my knee open (was meant to dribble round the cone).

I take it sport isn't LSE's forte? Still I'd like to get involved def with cricket and maybe football.
just dont ever believe in the SU.

the body representing ALL students, of course...

apart from the israelis, i guess.

it had to be said tbh...

im thinking of introducing a motion forcing a representative body to be impartial about issues which directly affect students.

Totally agree with you; it's pretty shocking really. And those ***** in the old theatre have really ballsed up my lectures. TBH LSE has agreed to or offered and explanation to all their demands, what more do they want?

theyre just looking a bit silly now. they have no right for a lot of their demands. by directing resources/money to exclusively palestinians, they are putting a lot more hard up kiddies around the world out of an education.

no SU should have to take a stance on such an issue, it's too controversial. im not disgusted by much, but this, i am disgusted by. i will sit in at UGMS but i will not pass a vote. especially over their anti racism officer who's position quite simply does not allow him to take a public view on any issues.

this ftw: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/group.php?gid=58967337817&ref=nf
it's so true!

and their demands like sending computers etc to palestine mean that theyre being diverted away from other needy countries; i think they already go to projects in africa etc.

the protest is a farce. and we all know it:biggrin:.

theyre beginning to look stupid, and think of how much the security costs.
the strike is over!!! On another note how is everyone finding ST102 this term? I am starting to worry because I dont have a clue whats going on, anyone else?
You want to know something **** about LSE? Supreme interest in careers over academics, and sole desire to join IB which pushes practically everyone to do the same for fear of being left behind. Needless stress in life.

So true.

I am refusing to get sucked in though and am looking hard at careers outside of the city. The OBSESSIVE desire, even from first years, to get the all important 'internship' is soul-destroying. People don't seem to realise that you have the rest of your bloody life to work in a boring job with insane hours that makes you want to tear your own eyeballs out with frustration. Why do it when you are young, energetic and good looking?

that is a big assumption. we are talking about LSE students here.

Its all about getting ahead of the game though isn't it? Really really annoying unfortunately; but I have been sucked in, so its a bit meh for me at the moment.
its like that with law...

"I WANTZ TO BEE A BARRISTAAAA".

you watch me try and tell my family that im still keeping my options open. its bleeding HELL!!!!

full oof arrogant snobs, is law :p:

'safer' like consultancy?

Assuming you are talking abt management consultancy

Work 60+ hrs a week, and get paid only £35k +"PRB" - No thanks! + IMO job satisfaction is terrible.

forseeable future and there won't be outrageous bonuses ever again

The financial sector has a nasty habit of not learning from its mistakes.

and let's be honest, city jobs aren't really attractive atm....work your ass off, get treated like ****, being a small nobody in a massive company...and there's not even many internships going round either. Might as well get some life experience instead.

Money and job satisfaction are 2 completely different things but I know consultants who are earning considerably more than 35K lol.
completely agree with the above comments about the SU and the Occupation. shame the general opinion on here was not the same as at last week's UGM. did these idiots not consider the precedent they set by their occupation and by their demands? you can't simpy waive tuition fees for students from one troubled country.

and the self righteousness reached painful proportions in this week's UGM. let's all give seph brown a hearty round of applause for being a blazingly unprofessional twat for the last week. and ohnoes, someone suggested that the one sided hysteria over Gaza may have its roots in anti semitism. not an idea I agree with at all, but in the light of what's been going on, not entirely unreasonable. anyway, it's hardly a shocking or original angle. a student newspaper should and does contain a variety of opinion. it's not the house organ for whichever bunch of self absorbed morons is campaiging at the moment.

do many 1st years really apply for internships? I know some people wo are but thought they were the exception.
yes. lse is the worlds ******** institution. they cannot provide me with a computer that works and saves my work. i thought it was. it was doing the saved stuff.

the computer crashes, i go to use another one and what do you know?! all my contract law essay is GONE apart from the introduction and the lot of my public law class prep has gone. nothing. nada. sweet FA. im so flipping annoyed right now and can barely keep my eyes open to redo it all.

seriously on the verge of tears right now.

and on a lighter note, which needs to be said, the question on the political affiliation of sephs hat was hilarious. he has to go.

no confidence is so happening.
