**** you think Tony's notes are bad. Try bloody Yao's! I'm using Tony's notes to help me with ST102!

None of you can complain about ST102 if you were not taught by David Balmer.

Tony's notes? He wrote notes for you guys as well?

Stats department is :/
1. I've heard Balmers bad but I can't even understand what Yao says or writes...

2. I just steal the ST107 notes off public folders/my mate. They don't cover as much but he explains what the **** we actually are doing rather than Yao who just throws sigmas everywhere...
I actually am in love with LSE.

I'm surprised people don't like it that much.

Weird.

Government work is fine; I stupidly chose to public international law and I find it dull and extremely hard. More to the point I don't do nearly enough work!

Social life is alright now tbh, once you find a good group of friends, are involved in some sports teams or societies then there is more than enough to keep you busy. It's certainly a world away from a typical university though.

GAHHH LL278.

I think it's really interesteing (well, it did take a sharp downhill turn after Greenwood left) and I seem to be pulling high 2:1s and 1sts on my essays... but I am shaking in fear at that exam. All those cases, all those terms, all that crap. Thank god it's early and it'll get out of the way. And, it's just an outside option so I guess if we don't do superbly it doesn't really count.

But yeah, I am not thrilled about it. Every time I think I "get it" and I'm comfortable, my class teacher destroys that. But it seems everyone, the non specialists at least, all kind of feel the same way.

Sounds like I shouldn't be complaining about ST107 . Actually Tony's notes are not that bad if you are determined to sit down and spend time figuring out the notes which I have been doing as I havn't attended any ST107 lecture since january :o:

It doesn't help that I have had the most appalling teacher - she has set us 2 pieces of written work all year and turns up to class and basically sits there marking while we come up with answers to some questions on a sheet. If we don't know the answer she has a massive go at us for not doing the work/reading and then doesn't tell us the answer anyway. On top of that she hates me because I didn't go to her class for about 3 weeks in disgust at one lesson where she turned up 20 mins late and then literally didn't do or say anything all class other than give us a sheet to read. She goes out of her way not to be available - she didn't, for example, encourage us to see her if we had a problem and in any case she didn't even bother to tell us when her office hours were. ******* nightmare and now I'm going to fail her ******* module because I don't really understand any of it and I was almost in tears the other night when I realised that on one of the past papers I wasn't able to answer a single question.

**** this I'm going to get a beer and sit in the sun.

Having watched the recordings I have to review my opinion. While the notes and the (live) lectures are pretty hard to follow (must be the dark and comfortable PT), once you watch them back it's pretty clear what's going on.

Don't worry, LL278 exam isn't that bad. I took it because I thought doing a law course would help prepare me for doing future ones (which looking bad was kinda silly logic as I do A&F).

Your coursework marks I think are a good reflection of what you will get in the exams. (well, mine did anyway). The exam is not that bad, if you've worked consistently during the year you'll be fine

PIL turned out to be one of my highest marks!

Not very well if I am honest. However, the only revision method that works for me is cramming like mad (i.e. 8 hour straight revision sessions) a few days before the exam itself. I just can't do slow and methodical revision...:s-smilie:
