For the biology synoptic essay title " the importance of proteins in the control of processes and responses in organisms" the mark scheme says that we could write about proteins in respiration. This would mean id have to write about acetyl coenzyme A but i thought that coenzymes are not proteins or is acetyl coenzyme A actually regarded as a protein?

There are many proteins involved in respiration:
1. Enzymes in glycolysis and in Kreb's cycle [e.g. oxaloacetate dehydrogenase]
2. I believe some of the intermediaries in the electron transfer chain are proteins [pls check and correct me if I am mistaken - even Sheldon's brain is under duress r n
Be safe!
