How long can food poising last?

Last Monday I was really ill and throughout the week I've had constant abdominal pain accompanied with needing the toilet urgently, finally spoke to my Doctor today who said it was food poisoning, they didn't really give me an expected recovery time, just said that considering I was really ill for the first 2 days and since I've had no sickness, migraines etc, just bad tummy/abdominal pains and needing the sudden urge for the toilet, it's pretty obvious.

I've never had food poisoning before and can't relate it back to one specific meal or food, but I thought the symptoms usually pass within 1-3 days, is it normal to have the symptoms for longer than a week?
not longer than a week. definitely try to see a dr/go to a&e because you might risk dehydration which can be dangerous
A week is on the upper side of normal but still normal

If you’re still ill this time next week, you may want to go back to the doctors tho as if it lasts that long, it may not be food poisoning
