I applyed for Hull but only because I live in Hull it is my 5th choice but only because I want to travel away. If you are going to Hull practically everybody from a Hull college or sixth form goes to Hull university especially if their grades arnt up to much because Hull university let people in if your from Hull very very easily gateway system you win points in school to mean you have extra points because of trips you went on in school and college

Don't be put off by the area. I was, because of hear-say that Hull is a bit ****, and when I came on my open day the city didn't look like much, but coming to Hull was the best decision I've ever made. There's everything you need only a short bus journey away - clubs, shops, pubs, bars, laser quest (!), ice skating, cinema. And it's cheap (well, compared to the south which is where I'm from)!

anyone that likes laser tag should go to Kent Uni, Canterbury has Planet Lazer which is just immense! although to be fair i havent been there since i was 13 lol.

i don't know why people worry about the area so much, your experience should be mostly what you make it, and if your going to a big city... a student city nonetheless, youre always going to find something you like about the area, just like wherever you go theyll be something you hate.

People should focus more on the uni itself when considering their application.

Yeah i did and didnt like it much to be honest, didnt seem that great area wise.. Accomodation seemed average and people in the area seemed very much Unfriendly .. in my opinion

Hull was the first uni out of all the ones I applied to to get back to me. I can't remember how long it took though. First I got a letter from them but it took weeks for UCAS to update it.
