What makes you unsure about putting it as an insurance! I don't do psychology so can't really comment about it but the people I know who do say they love it...that the staff are really friendly and helpful! Hull in general is not as bad as people make out...yes it has dodgy areas but which city doesn't! The main student areas around the uni and the village of cottingham where most the halls of residences are, are both decent areas with good shopping and transport facilites etc The city centre is also quite nice...the shopping doesn't match up to any of the big cities but its has everything you need! Any questions just ask!!!!

Ahhh, that's the worst part! I don't know what it is specifically. I've only been to Hull maybe three times, ever... whereas the bigger cities all seem the same anyway. Did/do you live in uni accomodation?

I'm thinking Sheffield as my firm and Hull as my insurance. I know two of my teachers went to Hull so it's not like I have bad feelings about it; my teacher who went to Hull is one of the best! It's more the place/accomodation that I need to look into!!

Thanks for the reply  Ah I love TSR
My mate is doing Computer Science here and he's loving it

Pretty much we have one of the strongest departments in the uni. If you have good time management skills n you are motivated, this course will be easy for you. The psych department really look out for the students, and are always offering you oppurtunities. Ive done a free psychometric test, been offered loads of volunteering oppurtunities with the local Mind centre, etc.
Theyre really concerned with making sure each student will be easily able to get on a graduate level job after the degree.
Erm, I love the accommodation, but I'm in the self catered Downs with a super friendly block. The local area is ok, youll learn soon enough when and where to go out (For example, we dont go into city centre on a Fruday cause theres no student nights and its a bit too rough).
Loads of shopping (PRINCES QUAY :woo: ) and a gazillion takeaways and pubs.
In addition to the above:

Plenty of good clubs, my fave is Sugar (going there tonight   ) which does a really good student night on Mondays and it well priced. There's also Pozition, which is good but expensive (£6 entry in Saturdays) and Welly. Also lots of bars, I quite like Sharkey's, an awesome cocktail bar. The uni night club, Asylum, is also really good on Wednesdays and also fairly cheap.
If you like shopping the city centre has just about everything and 3 shopping centres and a really good bus system.
My only complaint is the weather

I'm in uni accomomdation at the moment Thwaite Hall to be precise! Hull wasn't one of my orignial options I got in through clearing but the accomadtion here is actually a lot better than many of the other unis I looked at and i think thats the same at other halls! Any more specific questions about it feel free to ask!!
