Is going for a drinks a date?

We live in Scotland and are planning to go for drinks when the pubs reopen in a few weeks? Is this a date? I asked her.

I asked a girl if she'd like to go for a coffee once. she agreed.

I thought it was a date, she thought it wasn't

I attempted to kiss her. made a bit of a fool of myself lol....

but other girls i had asked out for "coffee" twigged that it was a date...
OP if you are not sure if it's a date or not it's probably best to speak to her again whilst referring to your upcoming meeting as a "date" and if she thinks it's just as friends i expect she'll say something..

It’s an ambiguous date request. Coffee during the day particularly. Pub in the evening is more certain date territory, but even then there is scope for misinterpretation. The amount of ambiguous date requests attractive girls get is probably large. Read the chemistry and avoid wishful thinking.

I mean I go for drinks with old work mates,men and women at times. These are not dates.

So it depends how you know this person. If you met on tinder then yes it can be assumed it’s a date /of a romantic type.

If you met in linked in, they probably assume it’s networking.
