Hey guys and gals,

I appreciate this may be a sensitive topic for some but with the new 'up to £5000' a year NHS bursary, how much did you end up paying altogether (or per year) in student fees for your nursing degree? I'm just trying to gauge how much it will cost, as I will be a mature student and am currently saving up, so I would like to know how much roughly.

Many thanks!

You mean this one?? https://www.gov.uk/government/news/n...payment-a-year
You can get student finance - no matter what age - even if you've done a previous degree, nursing is an exemption course so you can still get student finance for nursing degree. I'd suggest using the 5k bursary alongside savings for living/studying costs and use student finance to pay the 9k+ a year for uni fees as you only pay about £70 a month of loan back out of wages and once qualified.

Hi, thank you for your reply, it is very helpful! I didn't know you could get student finance for a nursing degree if you have one already, I think I need to do a bit more research lol.

Thanks again
