I have a cifas marker from Barclays they done investigation and everything and they said they can’t remove the markers so they are going to send me a final letter but they advised me to see the FOS. Does police gets involved in this? And also how can I get them removed if not from the bank?

this is really confusing. What is the OP paying off?

The person who I quoted is under the impression that it is a debt that they need to pay to get the marker lifted.
It is not.
It can only be lifted if you can prove that you had nothing to do with whatever activity made them suspicious/investigate in the first place or after 6 years.

There is no debt, I've never suggested there is a debt to be paid off.

Give Cifas a ring and explain your situation and they'll explain.

I am well aware that it is not something you can “phone up and settle”
Not sure why you keep telling people that they can?
Unless you’re just trolling with them?

Or are you like many people on here, advising about something of which you have no lived experience of?

you can’t pay off a CIFAS marker unfortunately. only way to get it removed, is to prove you didn’t do anything wrong.

How did you deal with your previous Cifas marker, or deal with Cifas as an appointed representative of someone with a marker?
Or are you like many people on here, advising about something of which you have no lived experience of?

Who seems to be providing “advise” that has nothing to do with a CIFAS marker?
