in writing, some people put a comma before 'but' and 'and' but some don't.

e.g. i like school as i see my friends, but i hate learning

that is right, isn't it ?

Yes, it's correct. I believe the general rule is to use a comma before a co-ordinating conjunction between two independent clauses. You have written what's called a compound sentence.

I don't think it's a strict rule, I just put down what looks or feels right. Your sentence is fine.

Yh I feel like (with this example) most people don’t acc care... more abt putting emphasis if u feel like it...

But there will be other examples in which commas are very important and strictly used

Agreed sometimes they help a lot with making sense of the meaning of the sentence but not in this case or in most cases tbh

I assume that is correct, as it is exactly what I do. When you start a sentence with these words, they must be followed by a comma.

your example is correct because you have two independent clauses; but there are exceptions, so that's probably why it feels some writers use it and others don't.

here, read through this

btw i moved your thread out of the debate section and into the relevant forum
