Yep, I overthink everything, to the point where I doubt my own existence

It turns a perfect apology into the most dreadful thing known to mankind

Everyone has at some point. Apologies dont always go well, you have someone who may or may not still be angry with you and you're putting yourself in in the vulnerable position of telling them that you're willing to start again. It can hurt if the other person doesnt accept it or if it only makes things worse.
You dont know what exactly the other person was thinking or feeling, overthinking and trying to guess isnt going to get you anywhere. Try to take your mind off it, focus on something else like a hobby.

I’m okay . I overthink a lot and by doing this I ended up pushing away one of the people I want to be closest with and after today we are no longer really on speaking terms ( more being civil ) . I messed up but it’s okay , I’ll slowly move on.

Oh I am really sorry to hear that, it's a difficult situation I know and complex. Tbh it happened to me too with one of my closest friends, and it's a shame😢 Do try not to overthink too much, and give it a bit of time before you try to perhaps make up-if you still want to-or slowly move on xx.

You could always try again. Was it over text or actually face to face.

It was face to face and they’ve clearly moved on and made it clear they only want to be civil . Plus we’ve now had two conversations and any more seems kind of desperate and it’s fine , it will probably work out for the best.

Thank you ! That’s really good advice and I know this feeling will pass eventually .
