This morning I accidentally ran a red light. There was lots of cars parked on my side of the road and a bus had just passed through the lights. The bus gave way to me and a van in front so they had more room to drive through. The bus was blocking the view of the light on the right and I couldn’t see the light of the left of the road so I automatically followed the van through the lights presuming it was green but i didn’t realise it was red until I was on the crossing when people (thank god) stopped because there were about to walk out from behind the bus. What will happen? Do I get points? A fine? I’ve only been driving for 18months and haven’t committed any other offences

Don't worry. As far as I'm aware, it's unlikely that someone noticed that, but I'm not sure😳.
Atleast I'll bump this up for you lol so someone more knowledgeable than me can help you x

Highly improbable, realistically the only ways you can be caught are if you are flashed by a static red light camera; if someone uploaded dashcam footage to Operation Snap; or via an officer filling out an MG11 (s9 witness statement) having witnessed it. All of which are very rare.

Sounds like you need refresher lessons.

Not a great mistake to make, but as mentioned, chances are nothing will come out of it. If it does, probably 3 points and a fine. Just a waiting game when you do something like that.
