u dont need sine and cosine rules for M1 just the basic SOHCAHTOH trig equations.

i dont really know. im not very good with units. i usually end up checking by doin eqn again just using units. Moments = Nm i think. N, ms-1, ms-2, s thats about it
i think. Gl this afternoon if ur takin M1

Sometimes when there is a mass added onto a uniform plank, but it does not say exactly where it is, so does it matter where you put it on the diagram when you resolve the forces?

nope. somewhere in the question it will prob say work out AD (A = edge and D=man).
Best thing to do is draw the man close to A and call the distance AD = x. then when u take moments its easy to relate to your diagram.

But if you put the mass to the other side, wont the force become the other direction e.g.Anticlockwise-->Clockwise when you resolve? Or is it still ok.

ye thats fine. Just as long as u know which distance your working out. Usually taking moments from 1 end is the best idea. Unless u dont know R for one of the pivots.
