I am currently in year 11 and would prefer to do BTECs (specifically applied science) instead of A-levels at college as I am not succeeding with gcses and will most likely fail A-levels (also I prefer practicals) What Jobs would I get with this degree ?

Hi, I am also doing applied science and currently in applied science. I would advise doing research because you can do lots of job in applied science but you need to go to university first to get a degree for the specific course through applied science and then a job.

U can do medicine, biomedical science, radiography etc. Basically sciencey related topics. U would need to look at the unis courses information for how they would accept u

Well tbh I've been really interested in doing science based research and something that doesn't require a lot of talking and socialising. ( I know I'll fail in the industry because of that) So definitely not a nurse/doctor. I just wanted to make sure I had a set career path as this pandemic has made me feel hopeless

There are lots, of course, you can do with BTEC like psychology, counselling, biochemistry, social work, pharmacy, physiotherapy etc. I would advise checking out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-cp...g399M1ejQIgK7X

Also, ask yourself what job or degree you want to do; don't think BTEC won't take you anywhere etc. There are many universities even top uni accept BTEC but some accept BTEC with a combination of A level so for this I would say check out uni websites. The uni's I know like Westminster, Roehampton, south bank and Greenwich do accept BTEC without any A levels.
