Is there such a thing as not being socialised properly.
E.g. not knowing basic personal finance or not having 2 parents?

If so, can I fix it myself?

If we're talking sociological terms, 'socialisation' - specifically primary socialisation (which you receive from your family and home life) refers more to your learning of values, social norms, understanding of institutions/structures and behaviours such as responding to authority figures. Knowledge of budgeting/finance is more of a skill and you can absolutely learn it yourself, sites like money saving expert explain issues quite well and there's a book aimed towards young people I recommend, I think its called Your money matters or something.

Unfortunately you are unable to magic up an extra parent for yourself

You can use this problem to rise up to the highest level.

For instance, Alexander Hamilton had parents who were not married to each other, but he managed to work his way up to become the first secretary of the treasury of the United States.
