I have been put on the reserve list for MSc Sociology since March. And I have not heard anything back from the LSE. As far as I know, our applications will be reconsidered by the end of July.

I'm sorry that I didn't explain clearly. Yes, I got the same notification that a decision will have been made by the end of August, but someone told me that the department will start reconsidering again after all offer holders accept/reject their offers until the due date, the end of July. However, I read some blog posts and found that there were some from the reserved list got offers before May. I think it will be possible to be noticed before the end of August if there are seats available and we are selected.
Hope you all will get an offer real soon

Hi all! Does anyone have more information on how the reinstating process goes? I got put on the reserve list for my first choice program and don't expect that I'll get an offer this admissions cycle. Does reinstating mean that we get a pretty good shot at getting an offer (as long as we submit earlier
)? Just trying to see if I can sort of plan...Thanks for staring this thread! Hope everyone gets an offer soon as well.

I have to accept an offer for another school by July 31st so I'm really hoping LSE doesn't take until August to let us know about our second choices.

In my email LSE says we will get an answer by the end of August regarding our first choice programme. However, did anyone else apply for a second choice? I'm wondering if they're going to let us know an answer for those programmes before then. Has anyone heard back from their second choice? If so, how long did it take?

It seems to depend on the program. The reserve list can be anywhere from 5 students to 50 it looks like.

I assume the course is full at this point and I only have chances of being put on the reserve list.
May I ask you when your application was processed?

Got placed on the reserve list for MSc HRO in May, and being an international applicant, the visa process needs to start at a particular date. Any idea if students hear from LSE before August? Since the course start date is mid September.

I assume if we don't hear back by the end of July that we will have to reinstate? Because the VISA process will take longer than a month or two.

My app was processed May 6th and I was put on the reserve list on June 3rd. Does anyone know if LSE offers places to people in the reserve chronologically based on when they applied or based on the standard of the application? Thanks!

I’m on a reserve list for a Sociology course. Would it be worth emailing the course convener about new academic results I have (just received a first on my under grad degree) & say again how interested I am in the course? Not sure if this will help my chances of getting a spot, but I doubt it could hurt? Any opinions please!

The LSE website mentions- The reserve list is not numbered or ranked in order of merit. Final decisions on all reserve list candidates will be made during mid August.I personally don't think students are chosen chronologically
