Apprenticeship and Travel

My parents want me to go to uni but I would like to do a degree apprenticeship, save money and then travel. Hopefully, after I finish travelling I would like to get a job in that certain field in another country. Does that seem like a good plan or would the gap I take for travelling impact me getting a job?

In my opinion, degree apprenticeships are significantly better than just uni. I think your plan is great, an apprenticeship will give you the experience you need to get a job as well as the money to travel without worrying about your employability afterwards. Uni gives you debt and uncertainty of employment.
