who can tell me something about trinity hall in Cambridge, its accommdation, college life, facilities!

seems like a nice enough place. Apparently has a very good summer event (not called a may ball for some reason). Quite small - and has a half decent bar from what I can remember.

The old alternative prospectus entry does us justice, although our library is now much improved (if you care about that). In terms of accommodation, all firsts years live on the central site and are allocated rooms according to preference for low/middle/high rent. First year rooms are generally very good; however, kitchens on central site tend to be rather small (with a few exceptions). Second and third year rooms are allocated by random ballot, with about half of the third year able to return to central site. We have a good selection of rooms off central site, either up the hill (near Fitzwilliam) or in the town centre. Most second years tend to go up the hill as the rooms tend to be better (and are set in attractive gardens) and there is a strong community feel when all the second years live together. However, you certainly can stay in the town centre (as I have done for all three years) and have good rooms.

College life at Trinity Hall is the highlight, though, and what sells it to applicants. Being quite a small college, we really are very, very friendly. You get to know everybody in college, get a great group of friends, and there are lots of activities in college (ran by ents, RAG). There is an absolutely excellent community feel that many other colleges don't have to the same extent. It is difficult to imagine walking through the college without bumping into somebody you know and chatting. Our June Event really summarises our attitude - we are a college that enjoys good, unpretentious fun. The college is also very active in terms of sports, with a mix of 'good' and social teams to cater for your dedication!

Academically, we are getting increasingly strong (having climbed to 12th in the college league tables). Our fellows are absolutely excellent, though, because they are so approachable and caring. The college certainly does buy into the 'work hard, play hard' view of life. We are expected to work hard, but the college also encourages and supports us enjoying ourselves. For instance, ask any Tit Hall student about Superhalls!

As for facilities, we have pretty much everything you could want. We're having a new sports facility built (with gym, squash courts, etc), and we occupy our own playing fields near Fitzwilliam. We have good facilities if you want to get involved in rowing. We have a music room and an active music society. We have a chapel with a reasonable choir. We have an excellent selection of clubs and societies which are funded by the JCR.

As you might have guessed, I really love Trinity Hall. It's an absolutely amazing place to live and study, and I've never met anyone here who isn't happy and wouldn't choose the same college again. Feel free to ask any questions, but - if you're thinking of applying - come and visit either on an Open Day or just turn up and ask the porters to look around (they'll probably show you around if there's another porter available in the p'lodge). Talk to students. The best things about Trinity Hall are the people and atmosphere, which you can't sense without speaking to people who are here.

An event is different from a May Ball. Events are basically discos; they're much cheaper than May Balls and the dress code (and atmosphere) is usually more casual. However they don't have all the stuff you get at a May Ball.
