Hey!

I'm so very confused! do I still apply via ucas? and my predicted grades are A*, B, B in maths, chemistry and biology in that order. Can I apply for the access to leeds scheme or is it too late? any help is appreciated

Yes, you still need to apply via UCAS. You will then need to send the form to the relevant people shortly after you have applied via UCAS.

If you meet the criteria for applying, then you can apply. If I remember correctly, the deadline for applications to the Access scheme is the same as the deadline for UCAS (15th January), apart from medicine and dentistry which is 27th October.

Hi, im wanting to go for Psychology at Leeds! ive just heard about this tonight! i get £30 ema and only mr bro had been to uni in my family, my predicted grades are:

A in Sociology
B in Psychology
C in History

however, I am going to ask my teachers to change these to

A in Sociology
A in Psychology
B in History

because I know I can get them

Would i have a chance of getting in there with ABC? or AAC, or BBB????

I would be very surprised if you could get your teachers to up your grades a great deal, as they have predicted those grades for a reason, not just to be horrible.

Leeds' standard offer for Psychology is AAB. With the Access scheme you would get an offer of BBB, so if you can get a prediction of BBB+ then you should be alright.
what happens if i already meet the grades that i would get offered under the ATL scheme...e.g i have BBB already and standard offer is AAB?

I'm not sure what the procedure is for people who have the grades already. sorry! try calling them?
I am applying for medicine this year and match some of the criteria needed for the access to leeds scheme and am predicted A*,A,A. However, i read somewhere that i will need to put leeds as my firm choice- initially i wanted to put nottingham as my first choice....i don't know what to do?? :s-smilie:

Only use the scheme if Leeds is your first choice I think. You've got the predicted grades anyway, so its up to you really, because you have to put leeds as firm, or they remove the offer

Hey I'm applying to Leeds on the access scheme, therfore my offer (if i get one) will be 2 grades lower than normal so instead of the AAb it will be BBB for medicine.

Was just wondering if there were any one else on TSR applying this way, because theres a section on the form where you have to talk about yourself, shall I just copy and paste from my personal statement or rewrite again?(considering the deadline is next week)

Help?

Hey davinia i was wondering did you get into the course because i need some information on it for medicine bceause im applying to it. What did u mention in the personal statement bit and how are the assignments are they hard and is it worth me going for this course or not i do fill 2 of the criteria. Thanks for the help.

If I were you I'd do the Leeds Access thing anyway, because all it means is that if you want to retain the lower offer, you have to put them as your firm. If you wanted to, you could put Kings down as your firm and Leeds as your insurance, but you would then have to meet the standard offer.

Have you applied yet? I've spoken to them, they said there is a letter in the post but i've got nothing yet, probably due to the postal strike, just wondered if anyone else had heard anything!

I have applied via UCAS (9th Oct IIRC) to Leeds, and I believe that school has sent off my Access form, but I haven't heard anything yet - not even an acknowledgement :frown:

Just thought it might be helpful if I said that I received an acknowledgement (by email) from Leeds this morning for my course, but there was no mention of the Access scheme in the email.
