How is muscle tissue in arteries CONTROLLING movement of blood in vessels important to cells and organisms?

Without mentioning delivering oxygen for respiration?

And making sure it links to another part of the spec?

I did this topic, and i think i got the answer write.
What I wrote was that the muscle in the arteries slowed the amount of constrictions it did, so less blood would go through them. Vasoconstriction I think?
